Initial Visit
What initial multidisciplinary assessment will be completed?
An initial multidisciplinary clinical assessment identifies those patients whose symptoms are concerning for an underlying cause. Patients undergo a thorough clinical assessment. The severity of their symptoms are assessed using a number of scoring systems including SF12, Roland Morris Disability Index, Oswestry Score and HADS scores.
A small group of patients who have signs suggestive of a sinister underlying cause will require further investigations which will likely include a MRI scan. The patient’s case is discussed by the multidisciplinary team and the patient starts on their individualised care plan.
In the event a scan is required we will assist you in getting the scan as rapidly as possible in a provider that takes your insurance. If you already have had a MRI scan please bring the CD or DVD along for review at your appointment.
